Gemma Named Northeast-10 Spalding Player of the Week for 4th Time

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University junior forward Jen Gemma (Milton/Fontbonne Academy) has been named the Spalding Women's Basketball Player of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference. It's the fourth time this year that she's been so honored, a conference-high.

Gemma scored 23 points in back-to-back games and also averaged seven rebounds, two assists, one block and one steal as Bentley stretched its winning streak to seven with victories over Stonehill and Assumption.

The six-footer leads the NE-10 in scoring for the second straight year, averaging 19.2 with a dozen 20-point games. She's also second in the conference in rebounds (9.8) and in the top ten in a number of other categories, including free throws (99) and blocks (26).

Gemma is up to 18th on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,282 career points and needs 82 to crack the top 15.

Bentley, which has the region's best record (19-3), leads the NE-10's Northeast Division by two games over Saint Anselm with five to play. Coach Barbara Stevens' team is one win away from a 31st 20-win season and four away from becoming the first Division II program nationally to reach 1,000 all-time wins.

The Falcons return to action Wednesday at Southern New Hampshire, a game that will be broadcast by NESN+ and NESN National.
