WALTHAM, Mass. – Before turning its attention to 15 consecutive Northeast-10 Conference games after the calendar changes, the Bentley University women's basketball team will look to wrap up 2015 and its non-conference schedule on a winning note as it hosts the University of Bridgeport Wednesday at 5 pm. The Falcons, idle since a 61-54 win at LIU Post five days before Christmas, are off to a 9-2 start, including a perfect 5-0 out of conference. Coach Barbara Stevens' team has won three in a row and is looking for its second four-game streak of the season.

They'll be taking on a Bridgeport team that also hasn't played since Dec. 20 when the Purple Knights edged Daemen in overtime, 70-68. Bridgeport is 4-7 overall with the most impressive win being a 60-44 decision at Pace  Dec. 7.

Bentley junior and two-time Northeast-10 Spalding Player of the Week Jen Gemma (Milton/ Fontbonne Academy) has put up a double-double in four of the last five games, a stretch in which she's averaged 22 points and 12.8 rebounds. For the season, the newest member of the Falcons' 1000-point club has produced an NE-10 best 20.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per contest.

Sophomore guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS), one of the conference's top three-point threats, is Bentley's other double figure scorer. She makes two triples a game while shooting 50 percent from outside the arc, and is averaging 10.2 points.

Freshman forward Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy) has given the Falcons 6.4 points and the same number of rebounds a game over her first 11 collegiate contests. She's picked it up during the current three-game streak, averaging 11.7 points and 6.7 rebounds with a .714 field goal percentage.

The other two constants in Stevens' starting five have been senior guard Jane White (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) and freshman guard Megan Lewis (Sevenoaks, England). White leads the team in assists (34) while Lewis has shown the ability to contribute in a number of ways with her season-highs including 17 points, 11 rebounds, six assists and five steals.

Bridgeport will come into the Dana Center with three double-figure scorers, all first-year players for the Purple Knights. Freshmen Kadijah Dickson and Briana Stoddart are averaging 11.0 and 10.0 points, respectively, and Furman transfer Aurelie Leblanc-Florent is in between them at 10.3.

Leblanc-Florent and Stoddart both have three-point range, having combined for 41, and Dickson has made 22 steals, one shy of sophomore Morgen Caution's team-leading total. Caution is the team's top rebounder with an 8.1 average, and is also scoring 9.4 points a game.

Only Stoddart has started every game for a Bridgeport team that has shot just .358 as a team, including .307 from three. The Purple Knights give up nearly 69 points a game and have been outrebounded by 2.8 a game.

Bentley will also be at home on Saturday when it resumes its Northeast-10 schedule and begins the 2016 portion of its schedule against 7-4 Stonehill College.
