WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University women's basketball team, which climbed to number 24 in the WBCA/USA Today Division II coaches poll before falling in overtime at Assumption College Tuesday, will launch a  four-game ten-day homestand Saturday afternoon.

First up for the 4-1 Falcons will be the University of Indianapolis, which claimed its first win of the season Friday afternoon at Merrimack, 57-43, to improve to 1-6. Tipoff is scheduled for 4 pm and for those who can't make it to the Dana Center, a free webcast will be available at www.bentleyfalcons.tv.

Coach Barbara Stevens' team will also host NYIT Monday at 6 pm, Southern New Hampshire Dec. 5 and Saint Anselm College Dec. 7.

Bentley will be looking to bounce back from a tough 78-72 loss at undefeated Assumption Tuesday. The Falcons were outscored 10-4 in overtime after a late turnover and two Greyhounds free throws with 5.9 seconds left in the fourth quarter forced the extra session.

Bentley junior forward Jen Gemma (Milton/Fontbonne Academy), a first-team All-Conference pick last year and a preseason All-America this time around, is off to a great start to the season and will begin the string of four straight home games 39 points away from becoming the Falcons' 34th 1,000-point scorer.

Gemma's season averages are up to a conference-high 20.4 points and 9.6 rebounds after a 31-point, 11-rebound effort at Assumption, a game in which she made 13 of 22 shots overall. It was the fourth time in her career that she has put up 31 points.

Stevens, whose win total stands at 932, has been starting two freshmen this season along with Gemma, senior guard Jane White (Amherst, N.H./Souhegan HS) and sophomore guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS). They are six-foot guard Megan Lewis (Sevenoaks, England) and six-foot-one forward Victoria Lux (Arundel, Maine/Thornton Academy).

Lewis has averaged 7.4 points, 5.2 rebounds, three assists and 1.4 steals in her first five collegiate games while knocking down four three-pointers and shooting 63 percent inside the line. Lux is second on the team in rebounds (6.2) and also has 11 assists and a 4.8 scoring average. Green is second on the team in scoring, putting up 9.6 a game and shooting a conference-best .625 percentage from three.

Bentley leads the Northeast-10 in field goal percentage (.451), three-point accuracy (.398) and rebound margin (+14.6).

Like Bentley, UIndy has a 20-point scorer with senior guard Princess German coming east netting 21.3 points a game. She's knocked down 20 three-pointers in the Greyhounds' first seven games and has averaged 24.8 in her last four. For the season, she's accounted for 37 percent of her team's points.

Six-foot-one junior Nicole Anderson, who began her career at Miami (Ohio), is the Greyhounds' other double-figure scorer, averaging 11.9. She had a 12-point, 12-rebound double-double at Merrimack.

UIndy, which has a -9.7 scoring margin, has committed 6.6 more turnovers a game than it has forced and has allowed 8.3 more free throw attempts a game. In its most recent game before the trip, the Greyhounds dropped a 74-57 decision to No. 13 Ashland.
