What a day for a celebration.
It was March 28, 2014, and the Bentley University women's basketball team was able to hold aloft the NCAA Division 2 championship trophy at Erie (Pa.) Insurance Arena.
Carlene Kluge, a Reading native and Reading Memorial High School graduate, will never forget that day.
"Winning a national championship was one of the best experiences of my life. I don't think it has sunk in even now, almost a year later," said Kluge. "The final game [a 73-65 victory over West Texas A&M] was one of the most exciting games I have ever been a part of as we came from behind to win. The number of alumni, family members, and busloads of students who traveled to Erie made it that much more special."
