Gemma Selected Daktronics/Division II CCA 2nd-Team All-East Region

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore forward Jen Gemma (Milton/Fontbonne Academy) has been voted to the Daktronics/Division II Conference Commissioners Association Women's Basketball All-East Region second team.

Gemma, previously selected first-team All-Northeast-10, became the first Barbara Stevens-coached Bentley player to average a double-double as she put up 19.5 points and 10.2 rebounds a game. Her scoring average broke the school record (minimum 20 games) held by Alison Fay since 1982 by six-tenths of a point.

Gemma, whose season included four 30-point games and a dozen double-doubles, led the NE-10 in scoring and was also third in rebounds. She shot 49 percent overall, knocked down 16 three-pointers and was fourth in the NE-10 in free throws (119-161, .739).

The six-footer also led Bentley in blocks (27) and was second in both assists (54) and steals (24). She ranked 16th in Division II in offensive rebounds and 24th in scoring.

Bentley, the 2014 NCAA Division II national championship, struggled through a reloading season this year, finishing at 11-16.
