Gemma Selected 1st-Team All-Northeast-10; Green Named to All-Rookie Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University sophomore forward Jen Gemma (Milton/Fontbonne Academy), the conference's leading scorer during the 2014-15 season, has been chosen for the All-Northeast-10 Conference women's basketball first team. Also recognized by the conference, as a member of the All-Rookie Team, was freshman guard Lauren Green (Damascus, Md./Damascus HS).

Gemma became the first Barbara Stevens-coached Bentley player to average a double-double, providing the Falcons with 19.5 points, 10.2 rebounds and two assists a game. Her scoring average broke the Bentley single season record of 18.9, owned since 1982 by Alison Fay.

Gemma, in addition to being number one in the NE-10 in scoring, was second in offensive rebounds (4.2 a game), third in rebounds per game and second in getting to the line, attempting six a game with a .739 accuracy rate. The six-footer shot .492 overall and made 16 three-pointers.

Gemma, who accounted for about 30 percent of the team's scoring, had five 30-point games, seven others in which she scored at least 20 and a dozen double-doubles.

Green, a starter in all 27 games, was the NE-10's highest scoring freshman, netting 11.2 a game.  She led the Falcons in three-pointers (44), three-point accuracy (.393) and steals (31), with her three-point percentage sixth best in the NE-10.

Four times during her rookie season, the five-foot-nine Green connected five times from deep. She also had four 20-point games with a high of 23 Jan. 7 against Le Moyne.

Bentley, the 2014 NCAA Division II national champion, finished the season with an 11-16 record.
