Murphy Cracks Top 15 in 41-Team UMass-Dartmouth Invitational.

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Competing in a field of 295 runners, Bentley University senior Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS) turned in a strong showing Saturday during the UMass-Dartmouth Men's Cross Country Invitational.

Murphy placed 14th overall, completing the 8,000-meter course in 25:34.50. He missed out on a top-ten showing by 16.1 seconds and trailed the winner, Plymouth State's Sam Brunnette by about 62 seconds.

Murphy was one of three Falcons to finish in the top 100. Senior Dan Hergott (Wallingford, Conn./Xavier HS) was 68th (27:04.87) and junior Ben Edwards (Morristown, N.J./Morristown HS) was 99th (27:31.72).

As a team, Bentley was 15th of 41 with a total of 432 points. Southern New Hampshire edged WPI for the top spot, 74-87.

Bentley's next competition will be in Romeoville, Ill. on Oct. 6, the Lewis University Crossover Challenge.
