Seven Bentley Cross Country Runners Receive Academic Honors from USTFCCCA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Seven members of the Bentley University men's and women's cross country teams, including three-time honorees Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) and Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS), received All-Academic honors for the 2017 season from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Also recognized were seniors Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) and Courtney Loughnane (Canton/Canton HS), junior Tina Touri (Watertown/Watertown HS) and sophomores Paige Fehskens (Wareham/Wareham HS) and Ben Edwards (Morristown, N.J./Morristown HS).

Fehskens, Higgins and Loughnane were each recognized for the second time.

In addition, both the Bentley men's and women's teams received All-Academic honors for their success in the classroom during the fall 2017 semester. The men's team amassed a 3.44 GPA and the women achieved a 3.32.

Individual All-Academic honors were awarded to those athletes who have compiled a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25 and finished among the top 30 percent of eligible runners at the NCAA regional championship.

On the men's side, Murphy was 46th of 159 runners, Edwards was 62nd and Higgins was 70th. For the men, Fehskens was 26th of 173, Bartolotta was 49th, Loughnane 62nd and Touri 68th.
