Seven Bentley Cross Country Runners Receive Academic Honors from USTFCCCA

Seven members of the Bentley University men’s and women’s cross country teams, including three-time honorees Marianne Bartolotta (Wantagh, N.Y./Holy Trinity HS) and Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown HS), received All-Academic honors for the 2017 season from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Bentley Tops NCAA Academic Success Rate Report, Receives President’s Award for Academic Excellence

Bentley University is tied for number one nationally in the latest NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate report. Of the three institutions who shared the top spot with a 98 percent ASR, Bentley is the only one that has a football program. In recognition of having a four-year ASR of 90 or better, Bentley received a “Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence” from the NCAA.

In his final career cross country race, Bentley University senior Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich HS) gained All-Region accolades by virtue of finishing 23rd in the NCAA Division II Men’s East Regional at the Aubudon Golf Course.

During the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference Men’s Cross Country Championships, contested Sunday at Stanley Park, Bentley University was one of only three teams to place three runners in the top 20. They were seniors Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./ East Greenwich HS) and Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS), along with junior Cody Murphy (Dunbarton , N.H./Goffstown HS).

The Bentley University cross country teams will be at Stanley Park in Westfield Sunday for the 2017 Northeast-10 Conference Championships with the women’s race going off at 11 am and the men’s following at noon.
