Bentley Places 5 in Top 13 to Capture Trevecca Division II Showcase

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Led by juniors Graham Chapski (East Greenwich, R.I./East Greenwich HS) and Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), the Bentley University men's cross country team ran to victory Saturday morning at Percy Warner Park.

Competing in a field of 12 teams, Bentley finished with a score of 48 to best runner-up Rogers State (Okla.) by 19. Bloomsburg University (Pa.) and Truman State (Mo.) both finished at 111 with the former winning the tie-breaker.

Bentley placed its five scoring runners in the top 13 with Chapski fifth overall and Cadorette eighth. Chapski covered the 8,000-meter course in 26:40.5, averaging 5:22 per mile, and Cadorette followed in eighth (26:59.8, 5:25.9).

Rounding out the Falcons' top five were junior Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) in 10th (27:15.4, 5:29.0), sophomore Cody Murphy (Dunbarton, N.H./Goffstown, N.H.) in 12th (27:20.8, 5:30.1) and senior Erik Alatalo (Wilmington, Mass./Wilmington HS) in 13th (27:24.1, 5:30.8).

Rogers State had the top two runners on an 83-degree morning with Baylor Harvey besting teammate Seth Whittington by 53.2 seconds with a time of 25:38.1.

Bentley's next action is the New Englands on Oct. 8 at Franklin Park.
