Bolick Captures Individual Honors at Shacklette Invitational; Bentley Takes 1st

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Running his first cross country race in three years, Bentley University senior Tim Bolick (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton HS) turned in a winning effort to lead the Falcon men's team to a victory in the four-team Shacklette Invitational Sunday afternoon at Saint Anselm College.

Bolick, who spent last fall studying in Australia, covered the 8,000-meter course in 27:09 to finish 33 seconds in front of St. Michael's senior James Henry.

Bentley had six runners crack the top ten, including freshman Thomas Abraham (Lowell, Mass./Lowell HS) and Ben Edwards (Morristown, N.J./Morristown HS). They were third and fourth respectively, with times of 28:18 and 28:24.

Grad student Sidney Field (Leverett, Mass.) was seventh (28:49), senior Rupak Darshan Mehta (Howell, N.J./Howell HS) eighth (29:08) and freshman Joey Ambury (Fairfield, Conn./Fairfield HS) tenth (29:10).

Bentley, which didn't run any of its five returnees who participated in the NCAA Division II Championships last fall, captured the team title nonetheless, finishing with a score of 24. St. Michael's followed with a 42, Saint Anselm recorded a 78 and New Hampshire Technical Institute posted a 98.

The Falcons will be back in the Granite State Sept. 17, running in the Bruce Kirsch Cup at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds.
