Higgins Leads Young Bentley Men’s Cross Country Team in New Englands

BOSTON, Mass. – Senior Conor Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) was the top finisher for a very young Bentley University men's cross country during the New England Championships Saturday at Franklin Park.

Higgins, one of only two non-freshmen to compete for the Falcons in the varsity race, was 185th overall, in a field of 275, with an 8,000-meter time of 26:57.

Bentley's next three runners were all members of the Class of 2017 with Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) 200th (27:04), Eric Alatalo (Wilmington/Wilmington HS) 204th (27:11) and Cullen McHale (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS) 233rd (27:30).

As a team, the Falcons were 38th of 41 overall and seventh amongst eight Division II programs.

Bentley's next meet is the Northeast-10 Conference Championships Oct. 27 at Saint Anselm College.
