WALTHAM, Mass. – For the third straight year, Bentley University's Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) has earned USTFCCCA All-Academic honors from the United States Track and Field & Cross Country Coaches Association. Mattson is a recent Summa Cum Laude graduate and a 2019 Google Cloud Academic All-America.

To qualify for USTFCCCA All-Academic honors, student-athletes must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and achieved a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.

In addition, the Bentley men's and women's track and field teams both received All-Academic team recognition from the USTFCCCA for achieving at least a 3.00 GPA during the year. The Falcon men turned in the second highest GPA nationally in Division II for the fifth straight year, achieving an impressive 3.43. The Bentley women also excelled, posting a 3.47.

Coach Kevin Curtin's team was one of just six East Region institutions to have both teams earn All-Academic honors. It's the ninth straight year both the Falcon men and women were honored.

Mattson, who amassed a remarkable 3.98 GPA at one of the nation's premier business universities while majoring in both actuarial science and business studies, provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in the triple jump and for the NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships in the same event. Both were achieved at the Northeast-10 Championships.

Mattson was previously named Bentley's 2018-19 Outstanding Female Senior Athlete.
