Three Bentley Track Athletes Selected for Google Cloud Academic All-District Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Recent Bentley Univ./ersity graduates Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS) and Dan Hergott (Wallingford, Conn./Xavier HS), along with junior Paige Fehskens (Wareham/Wareham HS), have been selected for the Google Cloud Division II Academic All-District 1 Track and Cross Country teams by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

District 1 includes student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Collegiate Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

All three will advance to the national ballot for the selection of the Google Cloud Academic All-America track and cross country teams.

It's the third Academic All-District nod for Mattson, whose resume also includes five Academic All-Northeast selections and 11 USTFCCCA All-Region citations, including five this year. She broke a school record 36 times during her career, including 14 times as a senior, and finished her career as Bentley's school record holder in eight indoor and five outdoor events.

Mattson, a Summa Cum Laude graduate, has achieved a 3.97 grade point average as an actuarial science and business studies major.

Hergott's accomplishments this season included placing eighth in the 3000 at the indoor New England Championships to earn All-New England honors. He was ninth in the same event at the indoor Northeast-10 Championships, tenth in the 5000 at the NE10's outdoors and 58th in the conference cross country championships.

Hergott graduated Magna Cum Laude and has attained a 3.74 GPA while majoring in accountancy.

Fehskens, who missed the track season while studying abroad in Madrid, was cited for her performance in cross country. She was Bentley's number one runner in every race for the second straight season and earned All-Region honors after finishing 24th in the NCAA East Regional. She was also 25th in the Northeast-10 Championships.

In the classroom, Fehskens owns a 3.88 grade point average as an accounting and liberal studies major.
