Arnold Wins 100 & Posts Three Other Top-5 Finishes during UNH Wildcat Invitational

DURHAM, N.H. -- Junior Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) was a standout for the Bentley University men's outdoor track and field team during the University of New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational Saturday.

Arnold's afternoon included placing first in the 100 meters (11.14 seconds), helping the Falcons take first in the 4x100 relay (44.27), finishing third of 18 in the 200 (22.76) and clearing 21 feet, 3.25 inches in the long jump for a fifth-place showing.

His efforts in both the 100 and the long jump put him at number three on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list in both events.

The relay also included sophomore Antonio Catino (North Reading, Mass./North Reading HS) and  freshmen Derek Pittorino (Westbrorouh, Mass,/Westborough HS) and Jared Reimer (Berlin, Conn./Berlin HS).

Jancaterino improved on his previous best in the 400 by more than a second while placing second of 14 in 51.78 seconds. A second was also achieved by junior Josh Gettings (Lowell, Mass./Lowell HS) in the 400 hurdles (56.37).

Junior Robert Moritz (Singapore) was fourth of 18 in the 200, following Arnold across the finish line with a time of 23.03. Reimer was also fourth in the 100 with his 11.48 a new PR.

Bentley's highest finish in a throwing event came from sophomore Peter Maselli (Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y./Hendrick Hudson HS), who was fifth in the javelin (139'10").

Bentley, the only non-Division I participant in the four-team meet, finished third with 103 points. New Hampshire topped the team standings (222.5) and Maine was second (184).

Next Saturday, the Falcons will be in action on opposite ends of the country with the Triton invitational in San Diego and the Southern New Hampshire Invitational.
