Skarin, Brine Lead Bentley During Day 2 of Northeast-10 Championships

NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – Senior Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) and sophomore J.T. Brine (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS) were among the top performers for the Bentley University men's indoor track and field team Sunday during day two of the Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Smith College.

Skarin was sixth in the 800 meters after posting a time of 1:59.85. He was also part of the Falcons' 4x400 relay that was seventh in 3:28.40, running along with junior Ryan Kenney (Henrietta, N.Y./Rush-Henrietta Sperry HS), sophomore Josh Gettings (Lowell/Lowell HS) and freshman Robert Moritz (Singapore).

Brine and senior Beau Kraft (Bayport, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point HS) were seventh and eighth, respectively, in the shot put. Brine uncorked a throw of 45 feet, one inch to shatter his previous career best by more than four feet, and Kraft was just an inch-and-a-half behind him.

Sophomore Alex Arnold (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy), who qualified for the finals in the 60 meter dash with a 7.05 PR Saturday, finished in eighth place with a 7.12.

Southern Connecticut State edged American International for team honors, 189-184.5. Bentley totaled 11 points, finishing tenth among a field of 11.

Next Sunday, Bentley will be at Boston University for a Last Chance Meet.
