WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley University Falcons will be at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston Saturday for the 16th annual Northeast-10 Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Action is scheduled to get underway at 4 pm.

A half-dozen Bentley athletes are seeded in the top eight in at least one event, including sophomore Stephanie Mattson (Smithfield, R.I./Smithfield HS), who is tied for second in the long jump, an event in which she ranks second in the USTFCCCA Division II East Region rankings.

Mattson, who recently set a school record in the 400 meters, is also seeded sixth in the 500 meters and seventh in the triple jump. A year ago, she scored in a pair of events, placing sixth in the long jump and eighth in the triple.

Seniors Julia Morena (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS) and Tim Bolick (Hopkinton/Hopkinton HS) are fifth in the women's 5,000 and the men's 800, respectively. Morena ranks seventh in the East in the 5,000 and was third in the 5,000 at last year's championships. Bolick, the runner-up in the 1,000 in 2016, is ranked fifth in the East in the 800 and eighth in the mile by the USTFCCCA.

Senior Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) is sixth in the mile. Regionally, he ranks seventh in the 3,000.

Seeded eighth in their respective events are freshman Abbie Newman (Hanson/Whitman-Hanson Reg. HS) in the mile and junior David Hernandez (Tokyo, Japan) in the high jump.

Three Bentley student-athletes aren't seeded in the top eight this season after earning top-five finishes in 2016. They are senior Erik Alatalo (Wilmington/Wilmington HS) in the 5,000 (third in 2016), junior Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) in the 800 (second) and junior Seamus Higgins (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) in the 3,000 (fifth).

A preseason poll of conference coaches forecasts both Bentley teams to finish ninth. Southern Connecticut State is the pre-meet favorite in both.
