Strong Performances for Bentley at Larry Ellis Invitational

PRINCETON, N.J. – Senior Christian Connolly (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake Regional HS) and freshman Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) each achieved a personal best in the 800 meters while competing for the Bentley University men's track and field team at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University.

Connolly ran a 1:54.90, bettering his previous best, set at the University of New Hampshire Wildcat Invitational last year by two-hundredths of a second. That put him sixth among Division II competitors and fourth among Northeast-10 Conference student-athletes. It was also good for seventh on the NE-10 performance list.

Skarin followed in 1:55.33, an improvement of 0.18 seconds on the PR he set at Connecticut College a week ago. He was seventh among Division II finishers, fifth among conference runners and it put him ninth on the NE-10 list.

Overall, while primarily against Division I and club runners, Connolly was 71st of 98 and Skarin tied for 76th.

The other Falcon to make the trip to Princeton was sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./ Ramsey HS). He ran the 1500 in 4:00.98 to finish sixth among Division II runners, fourth among NE-10 competitors and 79th of 90 overall.

The rest of the Bentley team will compete Saturday in the Sean Collier Memorial at MIT.
