Haas & Albanese Post Bentley’s Top Finishes during Silfen Distance Invitational

NEW LONDON, Conn. – Sophomore Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and junior Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield, Mass./Lynnfield HS) had the highest finishes for the Bentley University outdoor track team during Friday night's Silfen Distance Invitational at Connecticut College. Each was fourth of 12 in their respective event.

Haas ran the 1500 meters in 3:59.00, a personal best by 1.08 seconds. It was the third best recorded in the Northeast-10 Conference this spring and elevated him to tenth on Bentley's all-time list.

Albanese achieved the conference's third best 3,000-meter steeplechase time thus far this season, finishing in 11:53.29.

Senior Tara Dooley (Lee, Mass./Lee HS) ran the NE-10's second fastest 5,000 time, 18:26.26, in her first outdoor race at that distance. She placed tenth among 13 runners and moved into fifth on Bentley's all-time list.

In the men's 800, freshman Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) and senior Christian Connolly (Kingston, Mass./Silver Lake Regional HS) recorded the conference's seventh and eighth best times to date. Skarin was ninth of 16 with his 1:55.51 a PR by 4.36 seconds. Connolly finished nine-hundredths of a second later in 11th.

In the women's 800, the 2:26.03 achieved by junior Dusty Sacco (Pompton Lakes, N.J./Pompton Lakes HS) put her sixth on the NE-10 performance list.

The Silfen Invitational continues on Saturday, primarily with the sprint and field events.
