BOSTON, Mass. – Bentley University senior Tara Dooley (Lee/Lee HS) earned All-New England honors, broke a school record and provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships Friday afternoon while running the 5,000 meters at the New England Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships at Boston University's Track and Tennis Center.

Dooley, a Division II All-America and Capital One Academic All-America in cross country, placed fifth in the championships with her time of 17:15.61 breaking the school record set by Melissa Nash on the same track in 2009 by 5.29 seconds. Senior Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./Arlington HS), in her final indoor meet as a collegian, posted a season-best 3:10.52 while finishing 22nd overall in the 1,000 meters.

On the men's side, senior Christian Connolly (Kingston/Silver Lake Regional HS) moved to number eight on Bentley's all-time list in the 800 meters as he placed 23rd over in 1:55.51. That bettered his previous best by 0.76 seconds.

Bentley's highest individual finish was a 21st in the 5000 by sophomore Cullen McHale (Burlington, Conn./Lewis S. Mills HS), who set a PR by 4.33 seconds with a time of 15:21.40. That elevated him to 13th on the program's all-time list.

Freshman Nick Skarin (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee HS) just missed a PR in the 500 while finishing 28th in 1:07.59.

In the men's distance  medley, Bentley was 16th with junior David Cooper (Woburn/Woburn HS) and freshman Ryan Cadorette (Saco, Maine/Thornton Academy) combining with sophomores Nik Haas (Ramsey, N.J./Ramsey HS) and David Stoffel (Luxenbourg) for a time of 10:34.63.
