Trueb Returns to Action with 5th-Place Finish in Mile at Dartmouth Indoor Classic

HANOVER, N.H. – In his first race since the NCAA Division II Indoor Track Championships last March, Bentley University  junior Curtis Trueb (Eastchester, N.Y./Eastchester HS) finished fifth in the mile Saturday during the Dartmouth Indoor Classic at the Leverone Field House.

Trueb, the school record holder in the mile (4:08.12), posted a time of 4:18.01 in a 45-runner race won by Peter Najem, competing as an individual, in 4:13.13.

Also in the mile, junior Craig Robinson (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough HS) was 11th in 4:23.83, and Rob Hennessy (North Andover, Mass./North Andover HS), also a junior, was 14th. His time of 4:28.12 was a PR by more than nine seconds.

Junior Sean Maguire (Essex, Vt./Essex HS) also established a new PR with his time of 8:50.34 1.37 seconds better than his previous personal best. He placed ninth in a field of 33.

In the shot put, senior captain Steven Long (Newton/Newton North HS) was 11th of 25 with a throw of 41 feet, 10.5 inches. Junior Chris Letourneau (Franklin, Mass./Franklin HS) placed 10th out of 26 entrants in the 800, finishing in 2:04.85.

Next Saturday, Bentley will compete in the Valentine's Invitational at Boston University.
