Walant Named to Academic All-Northeast-10 Men’s Outdoor Track Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Recent Bentley University graduate Tim Walant (Nashua, N.H./Nashua HS North) has been selected for the 2011 Academic All-Northeast-10 Conference team in men's outdoor track.

Walant, who amassed a sparkling 3.91 grade point average while majoring in mathematics, closed out his career in early May with an 11th place finish in the 110 meter hurdles at the New England Championships.  His time of 15.29 seconds shattered his previous career best by 0.39 seconds and elevated him to sixth on Bentley's all-time list in the event.

Walant, who finished sixth in the 110 hurdles at the 2011 Northeast-10 outdoor championships, is making his second appearance on the Academic All-NE-10 team, having previously been recognized in 2009.

Walant, a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society, made the President's List seven times during his eight semesters at Bentley. He volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and was secretary of the Math Club.
