Le Moyne Stays Unbeaten with 7-0 Victory over Bentley

Waltham, Mass. – Le Moyne stayed unbeaten and improved to 7-0 on the season with a 7-0 victory over the Bentley men's tennis team on Tuesday.

Before the match, the team's senior class of Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex), Mauricio Fadul (Miami, Fla.), Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) were honored for their contributions to the program and their hard work both on and off the court. Both Aulson and Weitz are planning to return for graduate school.

Le Moyne won the doubles point by winning all three matches. Two of the singles matches went to three sets.

Aulson in No. 3 against Philip Blythe and freshman Gabe Horowitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) against Felipe Cruz in No. 6.

In the No. 3 match Blythe won the first set 6-2, but Aulson battled back and won the second set in a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-3). Blythe though took the third set 6-3.

In No. 6 Cruz took the first set 6-2, but Horowitz forced a third set when he won the second set 6-4. Cruz though took the match with a 6-3 win in the finale.

Bentley will now get set for its final match of the regular season, on Thursday at Franklin Pierce. The Northeast-10 Playoffs begin on Saturday.
