Team Effort Sees Bentley Sweep Past Saint Michael’s 7-0

Waltham, Mass. – Eight different players won in either singles or doubles to help the Bentley University men's tennis sweep past Saint Michael's 7-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Bentley won all three doubles matches, with two 6-0 sweeps by Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) and Max Bonte (Bradenton, Fla./IMG) in No. 1, and Mauricio Fadul (Miami, Fla.) and Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) in No. 2.

The No. 3 match was won by senior Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) and freshman Sergio Blanco (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) 6-2.

Weitz, Bonte, Fadul and Blanco also won in singles. Weitz won the No. 1 match in three sets, 6-0, 1-6, 10-3. Bonte was also a winner in three sets in No. 2, by a 6-2, 4-6, 10-6 score. Fadul swept to a 6-2, 6-1 victory in No. 3 and Blanco was a straight sets winner in No. 6, 6-0, 6-0.

Sophomore Jordan Soifer (Stamford, Conn./Westhill) won the No. 4 match in two sets, 6-2, 6-2. Freshman Gabe Horowitz (Lake Oswego, Ore./Lake Oswego) didn't drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 5.

Bentley improved to 2-3 on the season with the win. They will be back in action on Saturday to host Franklin Pierce.
