 Bentley Selected to NCAA Men’s Tennis Championship, Will Play Chestnut Hill on Saturday

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley University men's tennis team has been selected to the 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Championship, it was announced Tuesday night.

The Falcons are the No. 5 seed in the East Region, and they will play the No. 4 seed Chestnut Hill on Saturday. The region's top seed, Concordia (NY), will play the winner on Sunday. Both of those matches will be hosted on Concordia's campus in Bronxville, N.Y.

In the other half of the region, the No. 3 seed Queens (NY) will take on the No. 6 seed Merrimack on Saturday. That match will be hosted by the No. 2 seed Southern N.H., and the Penmen will play the Merrimack-Queens (NY) winner on Sunday.

Two teams from each of the eight regions represented in the Championship will advance past this weekend to the Round of 16. That round and the following three rounds will be played in Altamonte Springs, Florida from May 21-24.

Bentley went 15-8 during the regular season and advanced to the NE10 semifinals. They went 10-4 within the East Region. This will be the program's first appearance in the NCAA's since the 2011-12 season, which capped a run of three straight selections.

Chestnut Hill, out of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference, went 17-6 in the regular season and 14-2 within the region.
