Bentley Sweeps Adelphi 7-0 for 3rd Straight Win

 

Oceanside, N.Y. – Bentley picked up its 3rd straight win on Saturday with a 7-0 sweep of Adelphi on the road. Four different players won in both singles and doubles on the day.

Seniors Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and sophomores Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) and Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) each had two wins on the day.

Bentley improved to 7-1 in the NE10, and clinched at least the No. 3 seed in the NE10 playoffs and can finish second with a win over Merrimack on Tuesday.

In doubles, Granat and Fuca won the No. 1 match 6-4 and Aulson and Weitz the No. 2 match 6-2. Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) and Mauricio Fadul (Key Biscayne, Fla.) took the No. 3 match 6-4.

In addition to the aforementioned quartet, Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and Alex Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) also earned singles wins. Au won the No. 5 match in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4. Novins was a 6-3, 6-2 winner in No. 6.

The Falcons are now 15-6 overall and 7-1 NE10, heading into Tuesday's match with Merrimack to close out the regular season.
