Bentley Tops Franklin Pierce 6-1 on Senior Day

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team recorded a 6-1 victory on Senior Day over NE10 rival Franklin Pierce.

The program recognized the careers and accomplishments of its four seniors set to graduate in May before the match; Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex), Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah), Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate).

Bentley swept the doubles matches on this day to earn the doubles point and a 1-0 lead, then won five of six in singles.

Two of the seniors contributed to the doubles point, as Granat and Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) combined for a 6-3 win in No. 1. Hatcher and Mauricio Fadul (Key Biscayne, Fla.) took the No. 3 match 6-3 as well. In No. 2, Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y.) and Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) were 6-3 winners.

In singles, Fuca earned a 6-2, 6-4 victory in No. 3. Weitz, Aulson and Fadul each claimed their second wins of the day in singles. Weitz was a 6-3, 6-2 winner in No. 2, Aulson 6-1, 6-0 in No. 4 and Fadul 6-2, 6-0 in No. 6 Freshman Alexander Novins (Wellesley, Mass./Wellesley) took the No. 5 match by a 6-2, 6-1 score.

Bentley improved to 12-5 overall and 5-1 NE10 with the victory. They visit Boston College tomorrow for a 5:00 pm match.
