Men’s Tennis Wins 4th Straight, 4-3 over Le Moyne

Waltham, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team earned its second straight big NE10 win in as many days as they defeated Le Moyne 4-3, the 6th ranked team in the East Region, on Saturday afternoon, for the team's 4th victory in a row overall.

After Friday's 4-3 win at Stonehill, the Falcons knocked off another NE10 foe in the Dolphins by the same score. Bentley is now 4-0 in NE10 play, and 11-4 overall.

Bentley took the doubles point, behind wins in the No. 2 and No. 3 matches. Seniors Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) took the No. 2 match over Xavier Graells and Tyler Underwood, 7-5, while junior Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) and sophomore Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) defeated Andres Hernandez and Gerardo Wibmer 6-2, in No. 3.

The singles matches split 3-3, but that was enough after Bentley's win in doubles to win the match. Weitz claimed the No. 2 match over Phil Blythe, 6-4, 6-0 as the team's top singles winner on the day. Sophomore Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) defeated Sven Gopfrich in No. 4, 6-0, 6-4, and sophomore Mauricio Fadul (Key Biscayne, Fla.) claimed a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Wibmer in No. 6.

Bentley will next put its winning streak on the line on Tuesday when they visit Southern New Hampshire.
