Granat and Hatcher to Captain Bentley Men’s Tennis for 2018-19 Season

Waltham, Mass. – Seniors Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) will captain the Bentley men's tennis team for the 2018-19 season, head coach Rick Edelmann has announced.

Both have been three year contributors to the men's tennis program both on and off the court. Granat has racked up 35 singles wins in his three seasons while playing up and down the lineup. Hatcher set career highs in both singles and doubles wins last season, while he has twice been named an ITA Scholar-Athlete.

The Falcons will open up their 2018-19 season this coming weekend when they descend upon Storrs, Connecticut to play at the UConn Invitational, a three day competition that features singles and doubles tournaments against several other Division I schools.

Following this weekend, the fall schedule includes four matches. The first three are away, against Clark University (Sept. 26), Division I Bryant (Sept. 28) and Nichols (Oct. 3), before they finish the fall at home to Eastern Nazarene (Oct. 11).

In addition to Granat and Hatcher, the Falcons roster features five returnees; sophomores Daniel Weitz and Connor Aulson, junior Kendall Au and seniors Michael Fuca and Brett Gilman. Weitz and Aulson were both named to the NE10 All-Rookie team last season, and both Fuca and Gilman earned All-Conference nods as well.

Two newcomers join the ranks this season, in freshmen Alexander Novins and Mauricio Fadul.
