WALTHAM, Mass. – A combined 4-0 week by Bentley University's Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) led to him being tabbed as the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Player of the Week, the conference revealed Wednesday.

McCarthy went 2-0 in both No. 1 singles and doubles as he helped the Falcons to a pair of wins over NE10 rivals Saint Anselm and Stonehill.

In Bentley's 9-0 win over Saint Anselm on March 28, he posted a 6-0, 6-2 win in singles, and in doubles, he and teammate George Samander took an 8-2 victory. One day later in an 8-1 victory over Stonehill, McCarthy defeated Thomas Bellio in singles in three sets, 4-6, 6-4, 7-5, and he and Samander defeated Bellio and Trent Newman in doubles 8-4.

It's the fourth time in his career that McCarthy, a senior, has been named the NE10 Player of the Week.

The Falcons are 11-6 overall and 3-2 NE10 as they gear up for the stretch run of the season. Their next match is on Saturday at Franklin Pierce with a 12:00 pm start.
