Men’s Tennis Blanks Cedarville 9-0
ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – Bentley picked up its first win of its Florida spring break trip on Tuesday with a 9-0 shutout of Cedarville University (Ohio).
Among the highlights was freshman Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) improving to 9-0 in singles play in dual matches, with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Cedarville's Philip Brumbaugh. Also in singles action, Weitz's classmate Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) dropped just one game in defeating Ryan Cvammen 6-0, 6-1 in the No. 4 match, while sophomore Kendall Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) blanked Jeremy Hoover 6-0, 6-0 in the No. 5 match.
In doubles, Weitz and Aulson combined to defeat Hoover and Chris Tsibouris in the No. 3 match, 8-2. While Bentley's top pairing of seniors Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao) were 8-3 winners in the No. 1 match.
The Falcons improved to 6-4 on the season overall and 1-1 on their spring break. They are back in action tomorrow with a match at Webber International.
