Bentley Continues Unbeaten Start to Season with 8-1 Win over Nichols

 

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team moved to 3-0 in its fall season with an 8-1 victory over Nichols College on Wednesday afternoon in a non-conference matchup.

Junior Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) was among the standout performers on the day for the Falcons. He didn't drop a game in a 6-0, 6-0 victory in his No. 3 singles match, and also posted a win in No. 2 doubles with freshman Connor Aulson (Groveland, Mass./Pentucket) by an 8-3 score.

Aulson and fellow freshman Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) were winners in singles as well. Aulson by a 6-2, 6-1 score in the No. 5 match, and Weitz by a 6-2, 6-3 score in the No. 4 match.

Sophomore Kendal Au (Essex Fells, N.J./West Essex) took home two wins on the day. He first teamed with junior Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) for an 8-4 victory in No. 3 doubles. In singles, he came away a 6-2, 7-6 winner in the No. 6 match.

Reigning NE10 Player of the Week George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao) won twice as well. First with Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) in No. 1 doubles, followed by a dominant 6-0, 6-1 singles win in the No. 2 match.

Bentley will look to put another one in the win column on Monday when they host Endicott at 2:00 pm.
