WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Daniel Weitz (Roslyn, N.Y./Roslyn) has been named the Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Rookie of the year.

Over the weekend at the UConn Invitational, a tournament that featured several Division I teams, Weitz won his first ever college match. Competing against UConn's Justin Warren in the first round of the "B" singles tournament, Weitz picked up a 6-4, 2-6, 10-6 victory to advance to the quarterfinals.

Weitz then fought hard against Boston University's Marc Sable in the quarterfinals, but suffered a 7-5, 6-2 defeat.

Weitz and his Falcon teammates are back in action this weekend at the ITA East Regionals in Flushing, N.Y.
