Bentley Dispatches Salem State 9-0

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. – The Bentley University men's tennis team won its second match in a row to start its fall season by dispatching Salem State 9-0 on Wednesday in a non-conference match.

The Falcons dominated throughout. They dropped just two games total in the three doubles matches. Senior Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy) and freshman Kendall Au (Essex Falls, N.J./West Essex) blanked their opponents 8-0 in the No. 3 match as part of the doubles sweep.

Singles were the same story. Sophomore Michael Fuca (Manchester/Manchester-Essex) swept the No. 4 match 6-0, 6-0. Rosa, in the No. 3 match, and sophomore Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah HS), in the No. 5 match, dropped just one game apiece in winning their matches by identical 6-0, 6-1 scores. Junior Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory in the No. 1 match.

Now 2-0 on the season, the Falcons will play their final match of the fall on Oct. 8 at Bryant.
