Five Bentley Tennis Players Named All-Conference

WALTHAM, Mass. – Five players from the Bentley men's tennis team have been named to the 2015-16 Northeast-10 All-Conference teams it was announced on Wednesday.

The All-Conference teams are determined by a players record in a given flight in singles or doubles, in conference matches only.

The five from Bentley that earned this recognition are sophomores Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) and freshmen Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset), Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah).

Fuca and Gilman both earned two first team honors, in singles and in doubles. Fuca in No. 5 singles and Gilman in No. 6, and for No. 3 doubles as a team. Fuca complied a 5-0 mark in his flight and was 8-1 in NE-10 singles matches overall, while Gilman was 3-1 in No. 6 matches and 4-1 overall. In doubles they were 6-0 in No. 3 flight matches during the regular season.

McCarthy and Samander garnered a third team selection in No. 1 doubles. The pair played every No. 1 doubles match in Bentley's NE-10 matches this season, and they compiled a 7-3 record. They went 15-9 overall this season.

Granat placed himself on the third team for No. 3 singles and on the All-Rookie team as well. The freshman went 5-1 in No. 3 matches and 8-1 in NE-10 singles matches overall.

The five players Bentley placed on the All-Conference teams is second most only to the regular season winners Southern New Hampshire.
