Bentley Takes Down Post 6-3

WATERBURY, Conn. – In preparation for its final regular season match, Bentley defeated Post 6-3 in a non-conference men's tennis match on Thursday afternoon to improve to 14-6 on the season. The Falcons won five of six singles matches en route to the victory.

After they fell behind 2-1 in doubles, Bentley had a strong showing in singles to come away with the road victory. Its point in doubles came from Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) in the No. 3 match by an 8-1 score.

Fuca was one of five winners in singles. He took the No. 5 match 6-1, 6-0 for his second win of the day. Junior Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick) in the No. 4 match (6-2, 6-2) and Nick Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Immaculate) in the No. 6 match (6-2, 6-0) similarly cruised to wins.

Sophomore George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) battled back in the No. 2 match. After he dropped the first set 6-4, he took the next two 6-2 and 6-4. Freshman Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) triumphed in the No. 3 match, 7-5, 6-2.

Bentley will now head into its final regular season match, which is Saturday at home against AIC at noon.
