Bentley Drops Narrow Match to Adelphi, 5-4

FRANKLIN, Mass. – In a tight match between two of the Northeast-10's top teams, Adelphi came away with the 5-4 victory over Bentley on Tuesday afternoon at the indoor Adirondack Club in Franklin.

Bentley falls to 4-2 in the NE-10 with the defeat and has its two match winning streak snapped, while the Panthers improve to 6-2.

The Falcons took two of three doubles matches, but the Panthers rallied in singles by taking four of six. Bentley won the No. 3 and No. 5 singles matches.

In doubles, Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset) and Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick) were 8-5 winners in the No. 2 match, while freshmen Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah ) and Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) ran out 8-2 winners in the No. 3 spot. Both Granat and Fuca remain unbeaten in NE-10 singles matches with their wins.

The singles action saw Granat take his second match of the day as he defeated opponent Sebastian Zapata 7-6, 6-3 in the No. 3 match. The Falcons' other victor in singles was Fuca, 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 5 contest.

Now 11-5 on the season, Bentley is back on the courts on Friday at Merrimack.
