Bentley Rolls Past Stonehill 8-1

WALTHAM, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team earned a key Northeast-10 win over Stonehill 8-1 on Saturday afternoon. Five of six players competing on the day won in both singles and doubles.

The Falcons swept the three doubles matches, followed by five of six victories in singles to secure the win. They improve to 4-1 in NE-10 matches with the win.

The five that were double winners on the day were George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC), Dylan Granat (Woodbury, N.Y./Syosset), Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick), Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex) and Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah).

After teaming with Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) for an 8-1 victory in No. 1 doubles, Samander cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 win in the No. 2 singles match. Rosa and Granat earned a hard-fought 9-8 (7-4) win in the No. 2 doubles match, along with Fuca and Gilman teaming past their opponents 8-3 in the No. 3 match.

Other notable singles action saw Gilman drop just one game in the No. 6 match, 6-0, 6-1, while Granat (No. 3 singles) and Fuca (No. 5 singles) remained unbeaten in NE-10 singles matches with their wins.

Bentley will now go for a 3rd straight win on Tuesday when they host Adelphi.
