Bentley Falls at Florida Tech 9-0

MELBOURNE, Fla. – In the second match of its spring break trip the Bentley men's tennis team fell to a talented Florida Tech team 9-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Bentley's top doubles team of Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) had the best showing in doubles, falling by an 8-6 score in the No. 1 match to the team of Ricardo Corona and JJ Clark.

McCarthy also had a strong showing in No. 1 singles. He pushed the first set to 6-4, before his opponent Aria Solana won the second set 6-2. Freshmen Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah) and Nicholas Hatcher (Danbury, Conn./Danbury) also took a set to four games. Gilman in the No. 5 match and Hatcher in the No. 6 match.

The Falcons drop to 7-3 on the season. They'll play the final match of their spring break trip on Friday vs. St. Thomas Aquinas.
