Bentley Sweeps Past Wentworth 9-0
HAVERHILL, Mass. – The Bentley men's tennis team swept past Wentworth 9-0 on Saturday afternoon as four different players won in both singles and doubles. The victory improves Bentley's record to 7-1 on the season.
George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) was among those with two wins, picking up victories in No. 1 singles and doubles. He dispatched Matt Smith in singles by a 6-1, 6-2 score. In doubles, he teamed with Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) for an 8-2 victory.
The other three Falcons to win twice were Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick),Michael Fuca (Manchester, Mass./Manchester-Essex), Brett Gilman (Mahwah, N.J./Mahwah). Rosa and Gilman combined for a win in No. 3 doubles, while Fuca took the No. 2 doubles match. In singles, the trio took the No. 2-No. 4 singles matches.
Bentley is next in action on March 14 to open its spring break trip vs. Saint Cloud State.
