Four Falcons Selected Northeast-10 All-Conference

WALTHAM, Mass. – Ahead of the team's Northeast-10 semifinal match today against Merrimack, four Bentley University men's tennis players received All-Conference honors; freshmen Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth) and George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC), junior Sam Frye (Redlands, Calif./Redlands) and sophomore Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick).

All four helped the Falcons to a 7-3 Northeast-10 regular season record and a 5-4 win over Assumption in Tuesday's quarterfinal match, setting up today's semifinal against top seed Merrimack.

The All-Conference picks are based on regular season records in Northeast-10 matches.

McCarthy and Samander were named to the first team in No. 2 doubles. Samander earned second team recognition in No. 3 singles. Frye and Rosa were chosen to the third team in No. 3 doubles. McCarthy was also named to the All-Rookie team.

McCarthy and Samander went 8-1 in No. 2 doubles matches. After a defeat at Stonehill on March 31, they won eight NE-10 matches in a row, and have won 10 straight overall going into today's match.

In addition to their doubles play, McCarthy and Samander excelled in singles action. McCarthy went 6-3 in singles in primarily the No. 2 spot to earn a place on the All-Rookie team, while Samander was 7-2 playing mostly in the No. 3 spot.

Frye and Rosa went 4-2 in No. 3 doubles to claim third team recognition. They posted wins over Stonehill, Assumption, Adelphi and Le Moyne.
