Bentley Overwhelms Salve Regina 9-0
NEWPORT, R.I. – Four players combined to win in both singles and doubles to help the Bentley men's tennis team defeat Salve Regina 9-0 on Wednesday in a non-conference match.
The quartet to go 2-0 on the day were Brendan McCarthy (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth), Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy), Evan Chomka (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and Jerry Liang (Shanghai, China/SAS).
Bentley dropped just two games total in five singles matches. McCarthy led the way with a 6-0, 6-1 victory in the No. 1 match. Rosa, Chomka and Liang each had 6-0, 6-0 wins in the No. 2-No. 4 matches.
The Falcons won the two doubles matches played 8-0. McCarthy teamed with freshman George Samander (Willemstad, Curacao/ISC) in the No. 1 match, and Rosa paired with Alex DeMuth (Shaker Heights, Ohio/University School) in the No. 2 match.
The team improves to 2-0 in its fall season. They take on Wentworth in another non-conference match Thursday at home.
