Five Men's Tennis Players Named Northeast-10 All-Conference

WALTHAM, Mass. – Five players from the Bentley University men's tennis team were named Northeast-10 All-Conference on Monday, as the squad prepares to face Assumption in the Northeast-10 playoffs on Tuesday.

Bentley's All-Conference honorees are seniors Jimmy Rindo (Lowell, Mass./Lowell) and Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial), sophomores Kamil Pilch (Wroclaw, Poland/IMG Pendleton) and Evan Chomka (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and freshman Chase Rosa (Hampton, N.H./Berwick Academy). All five were named third team All-Conference in singles. The selections are based on Northeast-10 records from the regular season only, and a player must play 50 percent of his matches in a given flight to be eligible.

Rindo was the selection for first-flight singles on the third team. It's the second All-Conference honor of his career after he was named to the third team as a sophomore in 2012. He went 5-3 in No. 1 singles matches and was 7-3 in Northeast-10 matches overall.

Waddington was chosen for the second-flight after going 3-3 in those matches during conference play. He was 6-4 in NE-10 singles overall and is an All-Conference selection for the fourth straight season. Waddington was named to the All-Rookie team in 2011, and was picked to the first team in 2012 and the third team in 2013.

After being named to the All-Rookie team last season, Pilch earned third team All-Conference honors in third-flight singles. He went 5-3 in NE-10 matches in that flight, and was 6-4 in NE-10 singles matches overall.

A freshman, Rosa went 4-2 in Northeast-10 fourth-flight singles matches to earn third team All-Conference honors in that flight. He was 6-2 in NE-10 singles matches overall.

Chomka posted a 5-1 record in fifth-flight singles and was awarded All-Conference distinction for that flight. His overall singles record in Northeast-10 matches was 6-2.

Bentley's five All-Conference selections in singles is rivaled only by Merrimack, which had six. All five helped Bentley finish the regular season third in the Northeast-10 with an 8-2 record. They will be the No. 3 seed in Northeast-10 Men's Tennis Championship and will host No. 6 seed Assumption on Tuesday at 2:00 pm.
