Palacios, Chomka Advance to Round of 16 at ITA East Regionals Before Bowing Out
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Bentley University sophomores Evan Chomka (Warwick, R.I./Bishop Hendricken) and Felipe Palacios (Bogota, Columbia/Colegio Nueva Granada) advanced to the round of 16 Sunday in the B singles tournament at the ITA Men's Tennis East Regional before bowing out.
Chomka defeated Southern New Hampshire's Evan Eaton 9-7 in the round of 32, but had his run ended in the round of 16. Palacios got the better of Assumption's Matt Drolet in the round of 32 8-1, but was beaten by Adelphi's Ryan Villarruel in the round of 16.
Also on Sunday, freshman Jerry Liang (Shanghai, China/Shanghai American School) was beaten by New York Tech's Nicolas Jubera 8-5 in the round of 32.
Bentley will now open its Northeast-10 season on Wednesday when they host Franklin Pierce.
