Bentley Sweeps Stonehill 9-0

WALTHAM, Mass. – Led by five double winners, the Bentley men's tennis team scored a 9-0 win over Stonehill on Friday to improve to 6-0 in the Northeast-10.

Seniors Zach Tuckman (Kinnelon, N.J./Morristown Beard School) and Alec Spycher (Sarasota, Fla./Saint Stephens Episcopal), juniors Rodrigo Ribeiro (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) and Lucas Wever (Sao Paulo, Brazil/Chapel School) and sophomore Andrew Waddington (Granby, Conn./Granby Memorial) all won two matches.

Tuckman and Ribeiro won in first-flight doubles, 8-3 over Aaron Bergeron and Eric Ringstad. Spycher and freshman Raghav Tanna (Burlington, Mass./Burlington) defeated Brett Armstrong and Nick Hyzak 8-2 in second-flight doubles, and Waddington and Wever bested Jared Drzal and Thomas Alaimo 8-2 in the third-flight.

The singles portion of the match was more of the same, as Bentley took each match in straight sets. Highlights included Wever beating Ringstad 6-0, 6-4 in the first-flight, and Tuckman cruising to a 6-2, 6-0 victory over Hyzak in the second-flight.

With the win, Bentley is still one of four teams in the NE-10 with a perfect mark in conference play. They're now 10-4 overall. The loss drops Stonehill from the ranks of the unbeaten and makes them 4-1 in the NE-10 and 10-2 overall.

Bentley continues its home stand Sunday against Saint Michael's.
