Streak Hits 36 as Bentley Wins 12 of 13 Events at Saint Rose

TROY, N.Y. – The dual winning streak for the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team hit 34 Sunday afternoon as the Falcons won 12 of 13 events for a 151-66 victory over The College of Saint Rose at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's Robison Pool.

Bentley turned in the best performances recorded so far this season in the Northeast-10 Conference in four events, including both relays.

Junior Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) teamed with sophomores Oscar Chang (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills West HS), Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) and Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) for a time of 3:32.96 in the 400 yard medley relay.

Bentley posted a 3:13.78 in the 200 free relay with Zoda anchoring and senior Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy), junior Clayton Bennice (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa HS) and sophomore Andrew D'Annolfo (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Newton South HS).

Zoda swam the season's best time in the 100 free (47.26) and Homorodean did the same in the 50 free (21.69). Papsco's day also included a first-place showing in the 200 individual medley.

Double-winners for the Falcons included senior Dan Sausto (Slingerlands, N.Y./Doane Stuart School) in the 500 free (5:30.15) and 1000 free (10:08.11), senior Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./ University HS) in the 200 free (1:48.28) and the 200 backstroke (2:00.58), and sophomore Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) in the one-meter diving (229.05) and three-meter (221.86).

Rounding out the list of Bentley winners was freshman Anthony Vizental (Concord, Calif./ Clayton Valley HS), with a 1:58.37 in the 200 butterfly.

Bentley, 3-0, will open its home schedule Nov. 15 against Brandeis.
