198-102 Win at Pace Extends Bentley Dual Streak to 32

PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. – A sweep of the diving and nine wins in individual events lifted the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team to its 32nd consecutive dual victory, 198-102 over Pace University Saturday at the Goldstein Athletics Center.

After the win in the penultimate dual of the season, the 9-0 Falcons are one away from a third consecutive undefeated dual record. They'll look to achieve that feat Wednesday when they host Bridgewater State.

Junior Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) was part of both relays, anchoring the 400 medley and leading off the 400 free. He combined with freshmen Ellis Sartorio (Mountainside, N.Y./ Academy for Information Technology), Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) and Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) for a 3:38.90 in the 400 medley.

Bentley finished the 400 free in 3:17.04 with Alkaya followed into the pool by junior Jarod Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS), sophomore Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) and senior Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Catholic HS).

Homorodean and Zoda were two of three double-winners for Bentley. Homorodean captured the 50 free where he led a 1-2-3 Falcon finish (22.15) and also prevailed in the 100 butterfly (53.87). Zoda was first to touch in the 200 free (1:47.73) and the 100 free (48.74).

Also doubling for the Falcons was senior Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies). He took first in both the 200 fly (2:00.61) and the 200 individual medley (2:03.71).

Bentley also gained wins from Yoshihara in the 200 back (1:58.33), Papsco in the 100 breast (1:00.99) and freshman Alec Lanza (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS) in the 200 breast (2:16.49).
