223-73 Win over Keene State Extends Bentley’s Streak to 30

KEENE, N.H. – With freshman accounting for seven of the team's 12 individual wins, the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team cruised past Keene State, 223-73, Saturday to extend its winning streak to 30, dating back to a January 2016 loss to Keene.

Mark Zoda (Bedford, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) was among the standout first-year competitors as he took first in both the 50 yard freestyle (22.82) and the 100 free (49.28). He also helped the Falcons sweep the relays with times of 1:40.16 in the 200 medley and 1:29.40 in the 200 free.

The other freshmen to record victories were Burke Sansiviero (Huntington, N.Y./St. Anthony's HS) in the 1000 free (10:33.24), Andrew D'Annolfo (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Newton South HS) in the 200 free (1:51.53), Ellis Sartorio (Mountainside, N.J./Academy for Information Technology) in the 200 back (2:04.18), Alec Lanza (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS) in the 200 breaststroke (2:18.75) and Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) in the 100 butterfly (53.73).

Upperclassmen who were instrumental in the victory as double-winners were senior co-captain Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies) and junior Jared Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./ University HS). Elenio captured the 200 fly in 2:00.73 and the 200 individual medley in 2:02.92. Yoshihara was the quickest to the wall in the 50 backstroke (56.36) and the 500 free (4:56.18).

Sophomore Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) earned the win in the 100 breast, covering the distance in 1:03.42.

Bentley, 7-0, will return to action Tuesday with a home meet against Babson College.
