Bentley Men Swim Past St. Michaels, 203-90, to Extend Win Streak to 29

COLCHESTER, Vt. – With junior Jared Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS) and freshman Mark Zoda (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS) each winning two events, the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team extended its dual winning streak to 29 with a 203-90 victory over St. Michael's College Thursday at the Ross Sports Center. It was the team's first competition after a month-long holiday break.

Yoshihara swam to victory in the 50 yard freestyle (1:47.97) and the 200 backstroke (2:01.19) while Zoda took first in both the 100 free (49.16) and the 50 breaststroke (28.27).

               Seven other Falcons posted wins In individual events, including senior co-captain Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies) with a 2:03.69 in the 200 butterfly.

               Sophomore Dan Sausto (Slingerlands, N.Y./Doane Stuart School) captured the 400 individual medley in 4:21.95 and classmate Tanner Fales (Naples, Fla./Gulf Coast HS) went the distance in the 1000 free in 10:37.13.

               The others were a quartet of freshmen: Zach Papsco (Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) in the 50 butterfly (24.66), Alec Lanza (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead HS) in the 200 breast (2:17.53) and divers Jeremy Glick (South Windsor, Conn./South Windsor HS) and Owen Busser (Chelmsford, Mass./ Chelmsford HS).

               Bentley will take a 6-0 record into Saturday's 1:00 meet at Keene State. The Owls were responsible for the Falcons' last dual loss, 155-144, back on January 16, 2016.
