Elenio, McGeary Help Bentley Swim Past Saint Rose for 26th Straight Victory

TROY, N.Y. – Senior co-captains Ryan McGeary (Paramus, N.J./Bergen Cathoic HS) and Frank Elenio (Ridgefield, N.J./Bergen County Academies) each won two events as the Bentley University men's swimming and diving team stretched its dual winning streak to 26 with a 186-108 win over The College of Saint Rose Sunday afternoon at RPI.

McGeary led a 1-2-3 Bentley domination in the 500 yard freestyle with a 5:03.51 and also took first in the 200 free (1:47.83). Elenio's victories came in the 200 butterfly (2:00.69) and the 200 individual medley (2:03.23) with the latter the third best in the Northeast-10 Conference so far this season.

Bentley (3-0) outscored the Golden Knights 32-0 in the two diving competitions with freshman Owen Busser (Chelmsford, Mass./Chelmsford HS) the winner in both. He accumulated 188.62 points from the one-meter board and 179.27 from the three-meter.

Freshman Andrew D'Annolfo (Chestnut Hill, Mass./Newton South HS) swam the conference's fasted 1,000 free of the young season with a winning time of 10:17.67.

Bentley's other individual winner was junior Jared Yoshihara (Irvine, Calif./University HS), who led a 1-2-3 Falcon showing in the 200 backstroke with a time of 2:00.86.

In the 400 free relay, Bentley finished in 3:14.47, a conference-season best. That quartet consisted of sophomores Paul Homorodean (Milford, Conn./Joseph A. Foran HS) and Clayton Bennice (Ballston Spa, N.Y./Ballston Spa HS), junior Alper Alkaya (Milan, Italy) and freshman Mark Zona (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS).

The team's next meet is November 16 at Brandeis.
